Mascara: Yay Or Nay?

Are mascaras worth your time or should you skip them?
I found out after watching lots of makeup videos that people count mascara as an essential to complete most makeup looks, and I agree.
You can spend a lot of time on eye makeup but what really adds oomph to it is mascara. All mascara types enhance the lashes, but you can get those that are used for specific purposes such as adding length, darkening as well as thickening lashes that appear thin.

Eyelashes without mascara, they seem droopy,
thin and unnoticeable.

Eyelashes after the application of mascara,
see the difference?

Now there are lots of colors in which you can find these fake-eyelashes-in-a-tube, as one makeup artist called them. Black and brown being the most common ones, with blue, green, purple and clear mascaras also in the scene.
Most people keep mascaras even on the go, when they have no time for eye makeup, since it frames their eyes, adding a bit of polish to their look during the day or even at night. Such people find waterproof mascaras very handy and long lasting.

Here are some ways to get the best results for your mascara:

~ Apply Vaseline (petroleum jelly) or clear mascara as a base coat. it prevents mascara from clumping and is easier to take off at the end of the day.
~Start at the base of the eyelashes, slowly sweeping the wand to the tips. Apply all over the upper lashes, and for even more drama, the lower lashes as well.
~To curl the lashes without an eyelash curler, read this wiki article, it really works.

This video helps to keep your mascara on your lashes instead of streaking your skin and ruining your makeup::

And there you have it! Luxirious lashes in a few minutes. So what are your thoughts and experiences with mascara? Yay or Nay?
