~ Natural Collection Concealer Review ~

Wednesday, June 13, 2012

How I got it:

I have always been attracted to creamy make-up products because they don’t enhance dry areas of skin and blend flawlessly without emphasizing fine lines.
So when I went concealer hunting, I came across quite a few good ones, some with mixed reviews. Really confused, since all I had tried before were stick concealers and I didn’t like them so those were a definite no-no.
Whilst searching for “concealers” on Boots online site, I found their own brand’s “natural collection cover-up cream”. Just the word ‘cream’ was enough to grab my attention.

What it looks like:

It comes in a simple tube with a doe foot applicator, with the shade name on it. It contains 8ml of product.
You can use a concealer brush to apply hard to reach areas. Also patting it in with a finger also helps it to stay put. I got it in the shade fair.

What Boots has to say about their concealer:

Natural collection cover-up cream is an easy to blend cream concealer to cover spots, blemishes and under-eye shadows.

Why I like it ( with swatch):

See how creamy it looks?

It blends in easily.

~The texture is so smooth and covers up dark circles and blemishes such as acne scars and dark marks well.

~The skin around my eye-area gets annoyingly dry and this actually softens the area whilst providing coverage.

~The price is like unreal, so cheap! And that too from a trusted brand i.e. Boots. Plus its fragrance-free.

~It stays on for quite a long time, for at least five hours (maybe even more, haven’t really timed it) but not less than that.

The downside:

~The shades available are limited to two: fair and medium, so those with slightly tanned skin might find it difficult finding an exact match whilst there is no option for those with dark skin.

~ Those who need very heavy coverage out of their concealer for really bad acne might find this concealer's consistency a little light for them. But if they shade works for them then applying to the dark circles is a better option.

Next time you go shopping at Boots, make sure to check out this little gem. Or if you don’t live in the UK, get someone living there to send it to you.

So what’s your go-to concealer? I would love to know why you use it often!
