My not-so-secret stir-fried noodles recipe.

I know there are many people out there who love noodles because their cooking time is so short and you don't need to be a cooking queen to pull it off!

So there I was yesterday, just about to munch on my fave version of stir-fried noodles that I had tweaked to perfection during numerous cooking adventures, ehm, that It struck me, why not share the recipe with you all?

So I just took a photo of the end product, I know the written recipe might seem long, but it's in fact so quick, as stir-fry's should be, promise!

Before we start, let me just add that the ingredients and their amounts are not fixed, tweak them according to your taste, it's the method that will make a difference so be a dear and follow it accordingly.

  •  Instant noodles (1 packet per serving)
  • Veggies of your choice, sliced (cabbage, bell pepper, carrots, onion, peas taste great as well!)
  • Boneless chicken or beef slices (seasoned with a little soy sauce, vinegar, salt and pepper and left to marinate for afew minutes to an hour), minced meat can also be used (unseasoned).
  • Any sauce of you choice (mushroom, oyster, or soy sauce)
  • Cooking oil- a few tablespoons

  1. Put water in a pan to boil and cook noodles as directed on the packet. Don't add the packet of seasoning, that will be used later. drain the noodles when cooked.
  2. Meanwhile, in a fry pan add a few tablespoons of oil, once it's hot, add in the chicken, beef or minced meat. Stir fry. if using minced meat, add in a little salt and pepper once it has browned a little.
  3. When the meat or mince is almost ready, add in the veggies in this order ( bell pepper, peas and carrots first, after a few minutes add in the cabbage and onions, we don't want to over cook anything).
  4. Once this is done, scoop the contents out into a plate, in that same, now empty frying pan, add in a little oil, and toss in the noodles, this makes a world of difference to their taste. Fry for a minute on low flame and then turn the stove off.
  5. In the fried noodles, add the veggies and meat mixture, a little sauce, and the contents of the noodle seasoning. One side of the seasoning contains the salty seasoning, be careful when adding that, don't empty the whole packet at once, add a little, stir the noodles, taste and then add a bit more if you feels it's bland, since the meat/chicken already has a bit of salt in it.
  6. Serve immediately, I love to eat this with chopsticks, as you can see in the picture above,  so if you have a pair at hand, bring them out!
