Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer Review

Saturday, August 03, 2013

Primers are an essential part of creating a perfect base for makeup. When I heard how primers can help your foundation to glide on smoothly, minimize the appearance of pores as well as control oil, I was really excited to try one.

So I bought the Rimmel Fix & Perfect primer in shade 002. I have been using it for quite some time now and I think it finally deserves to be reviewed!

What Rimmel claims:

Skin perfecting Formula for 5-in-1 results: Smoothens, resurfaces, brightens, mattifies and protects.
Prolongs foundation wear.

What it looks like:

The primer comes in a plastic squeeze tube, very convenient and hygienic. The tube contains 30 ml of product, which is a decent amount.

I have squeezed out a bit in the photo below, it is milky white in color. The next photo is of the primer blended into the back of my hand. You can see that the area where it is applied is visibly smoother.

Application:

Apply to clean face after moisturizing, you can then go ahead and put on foundation or just live it like that. Either way, it makes your skin soft, definitely keeps it matte and gets rid of dry patchy areas on the face.

What I like about it:

  •  It helps my foundation to glide on easily.
  •  After using this primer before foundation, it keeps my t-zone matte for quite a few hours. Top it off with face powder and you can spend the whole day without fear of looking like an oil slick.
  • Helps to reduce the appearance of enlarged pores on my cheeks.
  • Due to the quantity, it can last for quite some time
  • The primer can be used by all kinds of poeple with different skin tones/ skin colors/ types because of the formulation.

What I don't like about it:

  •  Availability might be a problem for those of you in Pakistan since I heard it is not stocked in Rimmel counters in the country. I don't know if that has changed now but I got mine from Boots UK for £7.

So as you can see, I absolutely love this primer. However, since it is my first, I really cannot compare it to any other even though I can claim that it works very well for me.
