The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Serum Review

Friday, July 18, 2014

For those who have combination skin like myself, you know the dilemma. Even after applying moisturizer, you still have certain areas that just remain dry and sometimes become even more patchy, eww! And once you apply foundation, the dryness magnifies, not cool!

So whilst hunting for a solution, I finally found that I needed to add a serum into my skin care routine, moisturizer just wasn't enough. Then, the search for the perfect serum began and boy, are they pricey! Long story short, I went to the Body shop and as I was looking around, it hit me to inquire if they stocked any serum. And they did, they had the vitamin C one as well as the vitamin E one.
Without much thought, I chose the vitamin E one and it is one decision I am not regretting!

Enough of my serum-hunt tale, let's move on to the proper review now!

This is what body shop has to say about their vitamin E serum:

"Smooth and refine your skin with a concentrated pre-moisturizer that also protects it from harmful environmental elements.

How it works:
  • Vitamin E, wheat germ oil and rice bran oil help moisturize, nourish and condition skin, while protecting against premature aging and environmental aggressors.
  • Tara bush seed extract helps promote both immediate and long-term hydration.
  • Organic Community Trade honey moisturizes and conditions the skin."
What it looks like:
The serum comes in a plastic bottle with a pump dispenser which is great since you only require a tiny amount for your whole face and the dispenser only allows a small dollop of product through the nozzle.

You get 30 ml of product and it is quite a lot considering a little goes a long way, I have been using it regularly for a couple of months now and I still have quite a bit left

Here you can see that I have pumped a bit on my palm just to show you what it looks like. It is a bit milky yet clear in color, feels very smooth when you pat it into the skin and has a faint scent, nothing over powering or irritating. Also, it doesn't feel greasy or heavy at all, a plus since I hate putting anything slightly heavy on my face and absolutely loath products that leave a greasy layer behind.

I apply it after I have cleansed my face and moisturized my face by dotting it on areas such as my cheeks, the sides of my nose, chin and forehead. Then I pat it into my skin for an instant supple feeling! You can then go ahead with your normal makeup routine.

As you can see, this moisturizer is a steal and I would definitely recommend it to you. I have no complains till now and I will get a new bottle once I run out of this. You can find this easily at any Body shop store nationwide as well as on their official websites. I got this during my trip to UK for £12, which is around 2000 rs, prices might differ slightly from place to place.

Hope you liked my review! Do you have any favorite serum? Do share!
