L'Oreal White Perfect 10 Action + Protection Day Cream Review

Wednesday, December 03, 2014

Hi Dolls,

I am really excited for today's review. It's one such product that I received a couple of months back. Since then, I have been using it religiously and I finally think I am ready to share my experience with you all.
If you read my previous skin-related post, you might be aware that my skin reacts badly due to the pollution outdoors, if you haven't then check the post out here
L'Oreal White Perfect 10 Action + Protection Day cream claims to protect skin against environmental factors that contribute to many skin imperfections. In order to truly test this product, I wore it when stepping outdoors in various times of the day, just to see how my skin would react after the application, so my review is based on that test. Let's move on to the review now!

What This Product Claims:
L'Oreal research has developed  an advanced formula that combine:
  • 3 vitamins (E,B3, & C) known to act in skin layers to help control melanin.
  • DERMO-SHIELD complex to help protect the skin from several causes of darkness.
As you can tell by the name, it claims to have 10 whitening + full protection benefits such as
  1. Instant glow
  2. Fairer skin
  3. Even tone
  4. Anti-dark spots
  5. Anti-shine effect
  6. Anti-pollution
  7. Anti-UVA
  8. Anti-UVB
  9. Anti-oxydation
  10. Anti-oiliness effect

What It Looks Like & My Thoughts:
On to the packaging, it comes in a blue and white sturdy plastic container with a pump dispenser. I like the packaging since it's hygienic. The pump dispenses just the right amount of product. You get 50 ml of product and since a little goes a long way, this can last you quite some time.

I was really excited to be able to try a new product, that too with so many expected benefits. This is not like any day cream I have ever tried, for one thing I was totally surprised by the color of the product when I pumped it out, I expected something white instead it was a light lilac kinda color which is kinda different in a good way. Also it does not have that perfume-like fragrance, instead it's more of a faint mint scent, which is okay with me, since I am not picky with product scents as long as the product works. However, just because it has a mint kinda scent doesn't mean it has a tingly or cooling feeling also it does not leave a whitish cast on skin. In fact, the cream is absorbed into the skin quickly.

After application, it does even out the skin and helps to keep oil and shine at bay for quite some hours. I wore it at all sort of temperatures, during light sunny mornings as well as full-blown hot afternoons. I also experimented with makeup on and my makeup did not come off or oxidize in any way. Also, I experienced no break outs, tan, or dull skin after exposure to the sun which is a huge plus for me, it means that I can finally go outdoors without fear of the aftermath.

With an SPF 30, I don't feel the need to apply sunscreen on my face whenever I have this on. This is another plus point since I try to cut out as many products as I can and usually opt from products that have more than one feature packed in. Thus, with sun protection, anti-pollution, anti-oiliness and anti-dark spot among many other benefits, this day cream is an all rounder in my opinion and one that I can see myself using for a long time to come. I love how it simplifies my makeup routine by cutting out the time needed to slather on sunscreen, primer and oil-control products.

My combination skin is therefore in love with this product and I consider my self so lucky to have been given the opportunity to try this out since it's a keeper!

The Pros:

  • Has 10 skin whitening and protection benefits in one product
  • Has an SPF of 30 hence provides sun protection
  • Helps prolong makeup wear and control oil and shine
  • Comes with a pump dispenser
  • Can be used by all skin types and tones however, extremely dry skinned people might feel the need to apply their regular moisturizers in addition since this is not too hydrating for such skin types.
  • Tested on Asian skin hence suitable for those in the region

The Cons:
  • I wouldn't consider this a con, more of a personal choice since some people might or might not be bothered by the scent of this product. For me it's not a problem at all.
  • Not hydrating enough on its own for winter as well as for extremely dry skinned people.
Have you tried this product yet? What do you think? Also, do you have any skin concerns? Leave your comments below and I would get back to you!

Until next time,
Take care!
